Look at DT's combine numbers...his 40 time was good...but if you took his 10 yard split...it is in the top 4.1% of all NFL combine attendees, and the top 5% of all players his size...and this was straight out of college...he got bigger, stronger and faster once he was in the league.

That was also before the days of spending all the extra attention, coaching, and preparing just for combine results.
