The players that would have a hard time I think would be offensive linemen. As great as John Hannah was, he was only about 6'2 or so and played at about 265 or 270. Of course this was the 70's, well before Thomas' era.

I like to think about past players in sports and could they play today. I think baseball would be the sport in which they could. Babe Ruth for example or Lou Gehrig, sure they'd have to adjust some but a ballplayer is a ballplayer.

SOME of the older era football players could I think. Dick Butkus is plenty big enough, physical and mobile enough, he'd damn sure have to tone it down. Jim Brown? Any Era. Some of the older QB's would probably thrive now.
