App state goes first possession right down the field for TD. (they run the same RPO offense as Chad/Gus)
Next series, App. St. strips Cajuns, +10 turnover margin now.

Drinkwitz gonna be the guy?

At this point, I hope so. Could be the second coming of Lincoln Riley or could be a giant bust.
All I know is, he could probably do wonders with KJ.
Old Ark state video I found yesterday had Gus saying he was a "great recruiter" and all the players saying he basically Knew the offense as good as Gus. (came up with at Springdale)
At this point, I'd take the risk.

His current trajectory in coaching is noteworthy.

When the other choice is Lunney it makes it an easy choice

Per Wikipedia:
After coaching at Springdale High School (Arkansas), where he coached with Gus Malzahn in 2004, Drinkwitz moved to Auburn in 2009 to work on football operations and went on to win the 2010 National Championship under Gene Chizik
Then in 2012 after 2 successful seasons with Auburn he moved to Jonesboro, AR with Gus Malzahn to become the running backs and special teams coordinator.
When Gus went back to Auburn, Drinkwitz stayed at Arkansas State under coach Bryan Harsin, leading the offensive line and tight ends to win the Godaddy bowl.
Bryan Harsin then accepted the position as the head coach of Boise State in 2014 and Drinkwitz went to Boise to win the Fiesta bowl in 2014 and the Poinsettia Bowl in 2015.
Then in 2016 Drinkwitz was able to acquire a position with North Carolina State as the Offensive Coordinator to win the Independence Bowl in 2016 and the sun Bowl in 2017.
Drinkwitz has never lost a Bowl game at this point.
Drinkwitz was hired by Appalachian State on December 13, 2018.
He was previously the offensive coordinator for NC State.[9] He has also coached at Auburn, Arkansas State and Boise State.

App State could end up in the Cotton Bowl with this win?

Drinkwitz is probably what we need but would not make the casual fan excited because he isn’t Lane Kiffin

It's a long long shot because of Memphis. The announcers are just pumping the game up. Highest ranked G5 team goes to Dallas.
Cincy and Memphis both ranked 20 and 17, respectively, and App state is 21 playing an unranked ULL.

I'd honestly be okay with either of these coaches. My only concerns with Drinkwitz are that he only has one year of head coaching experience and he inherited a pretty talented and experienced roster from Satterfield.
However, he's had great offenses wherever he's been and NC State's offense completely turned into trash after he left.

I could see the GOBN/Gus Mafia pushing hard for this guy with his “Gus” connections.
It’s truly a cult.

Ah yes, only casuals wanted Kiffin

Maybe I should say those melting because we didn’t get Kiffin?
