A loss to 8-4 USC is not a "quality loss". That's silly. It's not a deathnail to a resume but it's not a good loss.

How many quality wins does Alabama have? Do rent a wins against 1AA schools count?

Better than a loss to 4-8 USC.

Why does it seem like the term "quality loss" is only used to sneak teams in? I think the country is tired of the Bama mulligans. This would be the 3rd one in 8 years.
Sit at home an extra week, no risk of injuries or an additional loss vs a top team... And frankly, without Tua your team isn't really all that compelling.

So I'd assume you would agree that a win over an 8-4 Auburn team, wouldn't be a quality win.
