Well, I'm trying to understand how he was chosen to run a big boy program after not only making terrible decisions but also getting blamed by the NCAA for the department that he ran. Why would he be the best candidate?

Which is why I feel like talks with A&M began as soon as he was informed about the investigation. That way he was able to spin everything to make himself look good while throwing the program under the bus. By the time the sanctions came out I guarantee he already had a deal worked out with A&M because they knew Woodward had been contacted by LSU.
