How would you accomplish that? All these conferences are not created equal. So many variables involved that you can only hope they get the top 4 right.
You are never going to find a committee that isn't bias or can ignore a name brand team when they don't deserve to be in over someone else. Right now Bama is top only because their name and not the teams they have beat this year. They probably have the worst resume in the top 20.

It's also a fact of the NFL that a team can win their division at 7-9 and knock out a wildcard team in another division that went 11-5. So, crap happens in all aspects of sports and life. There is no perfect human formula and folks have always struggled with their own limitations.

Which doesn't explain Bama being good enough to win a NC every other year. Good enough to have played in 4 straight NC games.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but the schedule hasn't played out yet. Bama happens to play in the toughest division, in the toughest conference, in college football. For some reason, you don't seem to want the Crimson Tide to finish their backloaded schedule.
Just keep winning barner, we'ere coming for your lunch money in a couple of weeks.

While it's not due to the teams we've beat, the name in and of itself has nothing to do with it. Fair or not, it's because of how Alabama has recruited and performed for the last decade or so. Bama's name wouldn't mean a damn thing without the recent results...
As for the resume, our's is at least as good as Clemson's, probably a tad better due to their close call against UNC. Oklahoma, Minnesota, Cincinnati, and Wake Forest are all in the top 20 and our resume is clearly better than their's. Or do you mean schedule since resume and schedule are two different things? In that case, our schedule is still better than Oklahoma, Clemson, and Minnesota...and considering the games left on our schedule, it'll only improve...
It doesn't matter any way 'cause the first ranking doesn't mean squat; the #1 team in the initial poll has never won the CFP and the #3 team in the initial poll has never even made the CFP. If Bama wins out, they deserve to be in the CFP; if Bama loses to LSU this weekend, that #3 initial ranking means bupkis...
