State fans, chatter here and on your board about Cohen needing to go. How did he get the position in the first place, seems from afar he came out of nowhere even considering him being the baseball HC? Does he have the Board's support at this time?

Our internet fans are the absolute worst. Can't see past the end of their nose.

He was the Assistant AD?
Look, Cohen isn’t the problem. I know you LSU people hate him, the problem is hiring a coach on paper who was a grand slam but turned out to be a called strike 3

He's been AD now for what 3 years?

Chalk me up as one that doesn't like Cohen as AD.
He has made five hires:
1. Joe Moorhead. Instead of hiring someone with SEC experience when we had a great team coming back, he went with a guy that he can have an intellectual conversation with. Moorhead is smart - he's not a good fit at MSU. Our players are dumb.
2. Soccer Coach #1. He did hire a soccer coach from Miami that took us to our first ever NCAA Tournament. But had to fire him (he went to Western Illinois) because he had improperties with players.
3. Soccer Coach #2. He learned his lesson and hired a classic SEC assistant. Seems to be fine but who cares.
4. Andy Cannizaro. Current high school baseball coach. Rode Jake Mangum to Omaha while chasing tail.
5. Chris Lemonis. A decent hire, but very underwhelming based on how he handled the search. Went to Omaha, but that team was loaded. We'll see what he does this year.
Three complete failures and a couple of maybes. Cohen fans give him credit for Ben Howland and Vic Schafer but those belong to the current AD at Florida. He deserves credit for paying the $ to keep Schafer though.

Why did he quit coaching baseball?

I am fine with him. Overall he has done a good job. Moorhead was a good hire unfortunately last year he was a first year HC with a great defense but had a QB that was coming off a horrific injury and they never really meshed until the damage was done with the loss to UK and Florida.
The other hires, at the time made seemed to be good. AC going off rails as the baseball coach could have hardly been predicted. What an idiot?
Now this year, Moorhead is struggling with several issues. Some of it is on him , some are circumstances that are beyond his control but at the end of the day, the buck stops with him.
Back to Cohen, I think he is a good AD and overall has done a good job.
