The gus malzahn experiment has run its course. The whole reason they hired him was because he was supposedly the secret ingredient to the 2010 NC. Nevermind that chiz d was awesome and Cam was awesome... it was gus that would lead them to the promised land, they said.

His offense led the nation in 2013 with a DB running the offense. When was the last time an SEC team led the nation in rushing?

I was actually impressed with what Auburn did in 2009...7-5 with a first year coach and came within less than 2 minutes of wrecking it for Alabama.

2010 D was not impressive at all. Every game was a shootout. Granted, Gus did have the coolest toy in anyone's toy box that year, but still.
