Reality - The SC game to me was Murphys law so I think everything is still in play, but not guaranteed.
I'm reminded of the 2014 UF/Missouri game. Look at these stats and guesstimate what the final score was:
1st downs: 17 to 7, UF
Pass yards: 148 to 20(!), UF
Rush yards: 135 to 99, UF
penalties: 3 for UF, 11 for Missouri
TOP: 34 min to 26 min, UF
Based on the stats it's pretty clear that UF was in control and probably cruised, right?
Final score: Florida 13......Missouri 42
Wtf? How? Well UF had 6 turnovers to Mizz's 1. Missouri also scored TDs off a KO return, a Punt return, a fumble return, and an interception return.
Sometimes it just isn't your day, and that's what it felt like saturday. I think we beat SC 9 times out of 10 but this just happened to be the 1 where absolutely nothing went our way. Murphy's law, as you said.
HOWEVER..with all that said, it'd be easy to jsut chalk this up as "one of those days" and move on but what's really worrisome is that it didn't seem like our offensive coaches realized how stubborn and stupid we were being. The entire offensive gameplan after the 2nd series was garbage. I'm not sure how easily correctable that is.

Completely agree WG. 51% of me says it was just one of those days, the other 49% says there is something "else" going on that is disrupting the team cohesiveness.

I remain optimistic. USC was an anomaly, but will hopefully result in some positive change in our play calling. I still expect to win the East.
Image this scenerio. We beat LSU in the SECCG, LSU beat Bama to get there. All three teams have one loss. UGA with the worst loss to USC, but is the SEC Champ. LSU with a loss to UGA, the SEC champ. Bama with a loss to LSU. I hope we would make the playoffs by being the SEC champ, but the loss to USC?

Hopefully we're not like that 2014 UF team who finished what...7-5?
I agree to a degree with you. Again, watching the game live and knowing we were chasing points and seemingly unable to get any makes you perceive everything as bad. The gameplan wasn't terrible. We threw high percentage throws, we pushed the ball downfield, we ran the rock...we did everything we typically do...
But go back and look at the execution again. With fresh eyes and no panic of the outcome. There were 2 or 3 runs in the first half that Swift or Zeus break for long runs if we hold our blocks or don't let guys go free; it's an explosive play or drive continues. Drive continues if Mays doesn't get blown up on 2nd down after a successful 1st down, and then whiff on 3rd down. Drives continues if Wilson doesn't get blown up by Kenlaw and Fromm doesn't get cute and makes the better decision to throw it away instead of throwing his pick 6. Drive continues if we don't get a holding penalty on Big Ben behind the play and get behind the sticks. Everything, I mean everything, that could have went wrong did. Injuries, missed assignments, lack of effort, poor decisions, missed field goals, fumble, interceptions...everything!
Our execution was shat...moreso than the playcalling and that's coming from a person that thought the opposite on Saturday. We had so many opportunities...hopefully it's one game and not a sign of things to come.
