We are probably in the "it works in theory" stage for most of these but the US has been pouring money into electromagnetic research for years now.
The Russians and Chinese have recently deployed field ready hypersonic cruise missiles, something they intensely studied because they were worried existing US ABM systems would render much of their missile threat useless. We have recently adapted hypervelocity shells for conventional artillery.
We know the Navy has spent quite a sum of money on directed energy weapons (the railgun seems to be on the back burner but laser weapons have recently come into favor) with the primary sticking point being developing a pulse-power generator to allow for rapid firing of the new systems. The Chinese are all ahead on developing their railgun system but they are stuck with the same issues we have, a power system that lets you fire the darn thing more then once a minute.

Check the last link, the Navy says the EM "shield" and the superconductor already work.
There aren't any known scientific theories to cover any of this except the EM shield, afaik.
Which is why I think its an intelligence LARP

Patents are public information. Why would the govt show its hand on stuff like this by filing a patent on it ?

I think this is all a big game they are playing with China and Russia similar to Reagan with Star Wars. I just can't see the government ever being so open with stuff like this.
