Not aimed at you specifically, but Gus has really been shite on by this fan base and is under appreciated.
Asterisk, there isn't any Auburn fan who isn't loving the season right now. Some just take a different tack on how they handle their business. Posibarners wanted to say AU Football was alright in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary last year.

If you don't think Gus made significant changes this past off-season to the way he handles his business based on critiques, you are naive. Sure, Gus may have "had it in him" all along, but there was something about his behavior that was keeping this team in the ditch.

Something has definitely changed with Gus. In his pre- and post-game interviews, he's made multiple references to things pundits have been complaining about in a way that leads you to believe that he has more self-awareness. I almost think he’s gotten a life coach. He’s lost weight. His last couple of press conferences were full of real analysis and not coach speak. He sounds authentic and looks dynamic and bright. He’s definitely more dialed-in on the sideline. Not just screaming and looking phrenetic, but being very pointed in his criticisms. In the past, he’s always looked like he’s having a pre-snap epileptic fit on the sidelines. Out of control. As a player on the field, I’m not sure you could get anything out of it. Now, he is still loud and animated, but he looks like he has really worked on his communication.

Regardless of what Gus has been working on personally, if you watch the way he interacts with Bo Nix during the game, he clearly sees Bo as an apt pupil. That probably breeds a lot more trust with the play calling and just puts Gus in a better mood in general.

We have the toughest schedule in the NCAA this year. It is yet to be seen how Gus will play-call LSU, UGA, and Bama. I haven't seen anybody on this board who didn't want Gus to succeed. But some want AU Football to succeed whether Gus is a part of that equation or not. I'll be Gus' biggest cheerleader, but because he is being paid to produce, it'll be based on his production, not just the fact that he's wearing an Auburn shirt.

This is a good analysis. However, my fear is still that we assume he's turned a corner as an HC because we're 5-0, not because he's actually changed his approach.

But I'm a cockeyed pessimist when it comes to AU football. I'll keep believing right up until they rip my heart out again

He may be carrying himself a little different and the play calling has slightly changed but its not like he has overhauled his entire approach. The biggest difference? He has a QB who can make plays and the other players are stepping up. Thats the biggest difference

But guys like PrisonMike are looking for a reason to enjoy the season all the sudden. Gus is changed. He is totally different. He is actually talking to the press and giving them info. Who gives a crap what he says to the press.

Its just an excuse. One play this year would have changed the entire perception of these "Gus has changed" fans and not one of them can convince me different.

Had Seth Williams not came back and caught the pass at the end of the Oregon game and the DB had intercepted the ball ending our victory, it would have been the biggest shite show you had ever seen. We would have lost when Gus could have just positioned the ball in the middle of the field and kicked the FG to win the game.

It would not be "FG gus has changed. He is more aggressive, bla bla bla like happened. He would have been a total dumbass and one the hot seat wanting to be fired that day. The Auburn plane would be gettin fueled up and ready to look for the next guy. Like it has always been labeled. When it works, your a genius. When it doesnt, you are a dumbass.....

Now someone tell me that I am wrong?
