We need to put JQ in a Mission Impossible mask and get him on the floor as one of our walk-ons. LOL Can't wait to see him on the court. Can you imagine a lineup of JQ, Kira, JP, Herb and a healthy Reese. Would be fun to watch.

i know im late to the party but Anonthy Grant has a top 5 team in Dayton.... im like wtf this dude barely got up out his seat to coach while hear I mean I'm happy for him but seriously we must have bad luck or something.... also while im here I've been to ole miss new arena and it makes ours look so dated I'm not saying a new arena will change the culture here but it couldn't hurt

Oats said we might get Herb back for Texas A&M next week.

Awesome. He will probably be a little rusty on offense at first like he was coming back from his last injury but we need his leadership and defense especially bad.
Speaking of Herb he has improved so much on offense these last few months it’s crazy. Petty has turned into a really good defender.
Kira is playing more aggressive. So nice having a good coach and being able to see the incremental improvement in the players during the season.
Reese some games is playing a lot better too, love that he has added driving to the basket into his game.

Yeah, it's been great to see Petty turn into such a leader in terms of effort, especially taking Herbert's role as defensive stopper on the opposition's best player even if that doesn't help his scoring average. There's many games where he's easily been our most valuable player while only scoring 8 points.
Reese too has really matured and has a ton more "effort" plays this season compared to his first two seasons where he was kind of a "low motor" player.
I definitely think that Oats deserves a lot of credit, like you mention, for getting through to these guys on what it takes to make winning plays beyond shooting 3 pointers.
Kira was great against Georgia but I think, for him, it's less about being aggressive and more about knowing when to be aggressive and when/where to find the open team mate. Certainly agree that Oats coaching and style of play can help him in this regard, which is why I don't think it's completely selfish that I hope he stays another season.
Even though we've had some disappointing losses this season, I can honestly say that I really like this team and enjoy watching them play.

#Alabama jr. G @jpetty2324 said HC Nate Oats has openly discussed the importance of the next 2 games vs. No. 11 Auburn & No. 25 LSU: "He said these next two are super important. Even though all the games are important, ... these next two can determine the future of the team."

#Alabama's Nate Oats sounded hopeful that jr. wing Herb Jones (wrist surgery) could be available to return in a limited capacity for next week's home game against Texas A&M: "I think it's going better than normal. ... We'll probably bring him back well before he's 100 percent."

Oats said he is just trying to get where Herb can shoot FTs, once he can do that he is putting him back out there......we need his defense badly

He said Herb would play tomorrow if he would let him. Herb wants to be back.

I think we have a better chance of beating Auburn at their place.
Auburn is playing MUCH better than they were when we last played them, and we are playing worse. They're especially tough at home. I fully expect them to beat us by double digits.

If we beat them at Auburn I’m getting a Nate Oats mural painted across the whole front of my house.

I expect AU to turn us over 20 +, refs in their hip pocket, cover the 6.5 point spread with ease on their IB celebration night.

It's only a 6.5 point spread? Baws that's some easy money.

Thank God our game @Vandy happened when it did. They would beat us now.

Bama by double digits tomorrow, baw.

We've looked bad at times, we absolutely shouldn't have lost those two games at home vs Arkansas and Tennessee. Why can't we have nice things?
Posted on 2/11/20 at 6:27 pm to Gary Busey
We win those 2 games with Herb. We are just cursed.
Posted on 2/11/20 at 6:28 pm to mistaken4193
I think we do too, but I also don't believe Herb being out is an excuse. The team put themselves in position to win and ultimately blew it with mental errors and awful turnovers. Herb being out hurt, but those were winnable games without him.
Posted on 2/11/20 at 6:34 pm to Gary Busey
Oh yeah, we were playing bad before he got hurt. But we still win those games with him. Mason Jones had 30 points....he gets half of that if Herbert plays. Herb would have been on Fulkerson against UT.
