Seriously, if Chad is not the answer and I don't think he is, how does someone turn this around? Are we as a fanbase patient enough for a long rebuild? These are questions that have to be answered soon.
Razorback football season tickets sales will be at an all time critical low next year. Someone explain to me the way out of this mess. Hard to have any optimism as a fan at this point.

Signed,

Embarrassed and Dissatisfied lifetime fan

Thats a million dollar question.

The light at the end of the tunnel looks to be a train at this point.

We have to hire a coach with, if not a mean streak, at least the ability to field a team that plays with some fire. We can take losses. It's listless losses where we sleep walk through the games that ruined Bert's run and is in the process of steering Chad off the cliff.

Well you simply cannot hire another inept coach.Chad is rated and F- head coach by the analytics for a reason. Bert though was actually rated about a B when he was hired and we saw how that turned out.

Really though, you've got to get someone to totally change the culture of losing. Someone who can instill so much confidence and fire into the team that it doesn't even think about not winning.

He also had to be one hell of a detailed and prep guy. There's a great Belichick quote about teams where he says "you've first got to learn how not to lose before you can learn to win"

Basically, all this sloppy shite that has plagued the team since Smiley has got to be rooted out and killed. But you also can't lose the locker room by being a psycho.

Honestly, Bill Clark is probably the best guy for the situation. He took UAB from essentially the death penalty to possibly winning Conf USA this year in a about 4 or 5 yrs.

Playing in the west ain't helping any, but a decent coach should easily get to 5 or 6 wins every year no matter what.

The 4 non conf and east games are typically in play every year unless you draw Georgia or maybe Florida.

West still has Miss Schools as well that we have historically dominated.

We nee a coach that either 1. Puts the fear of God into his players so they play hard af every week for fear of the consequences as Bobby Petrino did or 2. Someone who motivates them to play their asses off every single week and to not take anything for granted, or take a single play off, because you can't let your teammates, the team, & the state down like Houston Nutt. Talk all the shite you want about Houston Nutt I'm not here to say that he was a great coach just that the only group of 5 team he ever lost to while HC of Arkansas was a bowl game to UNLV, and his teams played with passion. His record at Arkansas would be considered a turnaround to what we have right now.

Tl;dr Culture. We need someone who will do a complete 180° of the culture we have right now which is a lack of humility, overlooking opponents based on that lack of humility, and not having enough fear of failure.

Exactly.

Hire someone who'll instill toughness (both physical and mental) and discipline in this team, knock the bitch off this roster, and recruit/play guys who play with an edge and hate losing like MFer. Enough with the gimmicky bullshite like throwing the A, turnover belts and Club Dub.

Our fan base is fine having to eat shite and take a few losses as long as we're developing our youth and playing hard. 2008 was the epitome of what you want to see in a rebuild year. 2018 and 2019 are not.

Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like there's more parity in college football now than there was back then, seems like more G5 teams are knocking off or getting close to beating P5s at a higher rate. Wyoming beat Missouri and then Missouri turned around and blew out West Virginia and South Carolina.

Not saying it should happen but those games aren't always gimmies for mediocre teams anymore.

I think hiring a coach with proven assistants is key. Too much buddy/buddy with Chad and his assistants. Our offensive line coach and offensive coordinator have no business being on an SEC sideline based on experience.
