Not saying it can't be fixed, but I would think most any rational Bama fan would have been slightly disappointed had they been shown these Defense and Rushing O stats before the season.... anyone that says otherwise is just not being honest.

The defense is basically as expected. We are starting a billion freshman at important positions and last game we basically played base defense for 4 quarters because of it. It's an issue that will only be fixed with time, and if it isn't then we probably won't go where we want to go. However, it isn't unexpected.

The run game has been a concern, but we also know that by far our best run blocking guard returns in Week 5. So if things don't improve after that, it will be a big problem.

On the flip side, Tua is better than he's ever been and has added all the parts to his game that people hoped he would in the offseason. The only outstanding question is health.

So, all in all, still in wait and see mode on most of it.

You could say the same about a lot of teams, but do a thought experiment where some version of Fromm/Tua/Burrow go out for the season.

Offhand I'd think Georgia would have the easiest time adjusting, even if it would hurt. And who knows, given how they recruit someone better than Fromm could be on that bench now.

Not sure the other teams could deal with losing their starter as well.
