Yes. What did Gatewood do tonight that Willis didn’t do when he came into trash games?

Willis couldn’t even make the correct reads in the zone read, and they rarely scored with him in there. Gatewood has yet to be stopped when he comes in. Big difference

Let me preface this with the fact that I like Joey and think he’s much, much better than Willis... but Willis was a garbage time guru. He missed reads because he always pulled it (Joey missed a couple tonight too but no one expects him to be perfect), but Willis ripped off a few LONG TD’s that had people salivating.

Well that shite isn't true, he was stopped last week in trash time. You can't just make shite up due to bias.

Gatewood made a couple of poor reads tonight as well as in other games. My point was not one of criticism for Gatewood. Just that we really didn’t learn anything. We knew he could run the zone read. Unless people have some unbelievable short memories, we were all having the same discussions about Willis his first season. Everyone called him NM 2.0.

Again, my point was that we didn’t see Gatewood do anything we didn’t already know he could do. He ran the zone read against scrubs. We are just all so hungry for the zone read it looks like the answer to our prayers.
