There are a LOT of people projecting Alabama and LSU in the playoffs.

I'm trying to think of a scenario that gets both in; I'm guessing they're really just saying both teams are among the 4 best teams in the country without having to explain the scenarios required for it to come about.

LSU, admittedly, has the stronger SOS. I'm guessing the logic is:
1. LSU loses a close game on the road vs Alabama
2. Alabama and LSU win the rest of their games
3. In a surprise twist Florida, not Georgia, makes the SECCG
4. LSU already has a win vs Florida, and Alabama beats UF in the SECCG
4a. For the sake of this exercise, LSU beats Florida by a full TD more than Alabama does
5. Two other conference champions are either undefeated or have one loss (undefeated Clemson and undefeated Oklahoma)
6. Ohio State wins the B1G, but eeks out wins and has a loss to Purdue on their record by 36.
7. The PAC produces a 3-loss Oregon as their conference champ.

The debate is between LSU and OSU going into the final stretch, and like 2017 OSU gets left out due to looking like garbage against a foe they should have beaten by 21+. LSU in at #4 on a much more impressive schedule.

#1 Clemson
#2 Alabama
#3 Oklahoma
#4 LSU

5 Heisman invites go out this year; 4 are QBs playing in the playoffs and the 5th goes to a RB in CUSA. The RB wins when every ballot has him in third place, and wins without a single first place vote as a lot of voters intentionally leave off other candidates in a form of revenge for not including a player from Notre Dame or USC.

LSU squeaks by Clemson in an amazing game. A last second dive by Lawrence is stopped at the goal line. He wakes up accepting his true gender. (Sorry, low brow. I'll refrain from any more of these).

Alabama and Oklahoma also have a game for the ages. Tua and Jalen hug each other after Alabama wins on a long FG (which leads to a lot of fans wondering if the headline is from a joke site), and as they hug both leave "Kick Me" signs on each other's backs. Saban tells Reichard to stay away from them both.

Alabama and LSU head into their 37th OT, the only eligible players left standing are from the bands and mascots. An LSU Tuba player catches what is thought to be the game winning TD, but refs rule you cannot catch a ball with a sousaphone in what becomes known as "TubaGate". The game is declared a tie, and the ensuing war between Alabama and LSU fans leaves the warzone formerly known as I-59 more commonly referred to "No Man's Land".
