Gameday House in Your College Town

Do any of you guys on here own a condo/house in your respective college town that you use for game weekends?
If so, what is your experience with it? Does your family enjoy and still go regularly? Do you still go when football isn’t in season? Did you buy something big? Or just something small and cheap to lay heads?
We spend a bunch of $$ renting places in Baton Rouge every game weekend and the Mrs. and I always talk about buying a place there but have just recently gotten more serious about it. We just really love the atmosphere and want to own it.
Looking for others experiences.
Thanks

Good friends of ours did in Auburn, but with the intent on being their retirement house. Their son lived in it through his doctorate, then they renovated and moved in for good. Its been a great investment as its very close to campus(actually where I park for gamedays) and the housing has skyrocketed in Auburn.
There are a few places in Auburn that do game day condos, where you are not allowed to live/stay for an extended period of time in one stay. People seem to rave about these, but hard to sell on secondary market

I thought about this if my daughter goes to Bama. However, right now, she is still undecided.

I bought one about 5 years ago and I am so glad I did. No more worrying about drinking and driving and or getting hotel rooms. Personally, I bought at the right time as the value of my house has tripled in just 5 years since I'm downtown. Additionally, it will be paid off in a couple of years and my kids will have a free place to live during college. I have rented it a couple of times during the spring to graduate students and have never had a problem. I am no longer renting it where we can now enjoy basketball and baseball.

Game weekends you dont go you can probably air bnb it and help pay it off. Seems like it would be a decent investment.

Buy. You'll love the experience in the off-season as well

We've got a townhouse in Oxford. It's pretty great for football weekends not having to find a hotel. Especially in that area since it's so small and the hotels book up fast.
Then it also serves as our go-to spot if we have to evacuate for a storm.
We try to use it as much as possible throughout the year but only wind up going up for football and an occasional baseball game. Other than that we let relatives or close friends use it if they are going up to Oxford. Or sometimes it'll be a pitstop for a night if we are going on a long roadtrip up north somewhere.
