Why would any big name coach want to stick their dick in that blender?
Honestly, it is not just the play on the field, it is the background drama that has been visible during hiring searches and power struggles.

So was Texas in Mack Brown’s last years. Very similar with the big oil boosters wanting control of the program. Everyone had their hands in the cookie jar.
At UT it’s the Haslams and a few others.
