And why are they progressively getting assholier?
If you deal with the public in any manner, you should know what I mean.
Attitudes get shittier and shittier as time passes. People think it's a-ok to just walk in an establishment and be a total stain upon humanity regardless of who is around.
This isn't a get off my lawn- or not intended to be- but are people less friendly/more countified due to the fact that there is less real social interaction these days? So no one knows anymore how to treat others because of awkwardness?
TLDR: Piggi hates people.

Me too- so I think it's some sort of double edged sword. People retreat because of assholes but then people are bigger assholes because they don't understand not everything in life is virtual immediate satisfaction so the poor saps dealing with them get beaten and battered.
I understand why people love xanax.

I think people are becoming bigger a-holes because of social media and things like it. When you diminish the importance of face to face interaction people gradually stop giving a shite how they act around others. Just my opinion.

Exactly- you typed out what I was trying to allude to but you put it in a much more eloquent way. Thank you.

Because we weren't intended to live in gigantic urbanized areas like we do now. The grind of the 8-5 job, traffic, scraping to get by, etc. all play into it. If you relocate to a smaller town that places an emphasis on the health and well being of its citizens, everyone is much happier and as a result much kinder. Also, nature cures all.

I haven’t noticed it.
But maybe that’s because I’m an a-hole too

Partly it is that someone being a great big flaming a-hole is more likely to get a few more likes then someone who isn't. It is the social media version of "if it bleeds, it leads".
And while this might cause some on here to throw a complete fit... we get along on most issues more then ever. Which means the five percent of things we don't agree on become hyper inflated. Something as penny ante as how many rounds in a magazine becomes life or death when it is really an absurdly small difference of opinion.

People are not raised with self respect or any types of manners. Trying to raise my daughter to say please, thank you, yes ma’am and yes sir. These common courtesies are almost non existent.

It's the me generation, and social media has made people believe their wants/needs can be met immediately.
Liberalism is also creating more self centered people, so it all feeds off itself.

Well, he's a democrat, so what is your point?

I think assholery transcends the boundaries of both parties.

True.
But back on track, people are just uglier and nastier quicker than in times past. I'm glad I don't interact with the public in my job anymore.

So do I, cause people don't want to leave me alone

I think its just a sign of society as a whole kinda sliding.

The more anonymous people feel, the more anti-social they will behave.
A large percentage of our population today is socially isolated.
There have always been assholes, though.
