This *has* to be a conditioning thing.

We have the best strength and conditioning program in the nation. It’s called practice and competing all-out for a position and to prepare to be your best. You can’t half-arse it and worry about injuries in practice. It sucks but shite happens.

We keep hearing that every year.. but the results seem the same. We are guaranteed 4 season ending injuries in warm ups

I'm starting to question the truth in this statement. A few years ago, I'd say you were 100% correct.

And it's been happening with increasing frequency over the last two years. There's no excuse for half the defensive roster to be on the IR list year in and year out.

Something has changed. This is more than just bad luck right now.

I don’t mean for this to be a reactionary/screaming at the sky response, but does anyone think that maybe certain guys should not be going 100% all the way through fall camp? Obviously we don’t know exactly what happened, and he could have tripped getting out of the ice bath, but Dylan Moses was not “competing for a position” in any way, shape or form. In the NFL, you see starters get shut down in preseason, and I wonder if colleges should somewhat do that, too. I know it kind of goes against the process to not “compete to a standard every day,” but do we really want OUR offense going 100% against OUR defense every day in fall camp?
