It would be great but the odds are pretty low. He’s in his 9th season and needs 3,500 yards to make 10,000. You’re talking him being a 10,000 yard rusher in year 12, which is something the all time greats rarely accomplish.

I think you're looking at it through the lens of "RBs don't last long past 30", which really isn't the case anymore. For example, Emmitt Smith had more carries on his 26th birthday than Ingram will have on his 31st. RBs aren't leaned on like they used to be. The name of the game these days is efficiency, and Ingram is as efficient of a runner as you'll find. Now I'm not saying he's going to be the ageless wonder ala Frank Gore, but if he has 3 or 4 more productive seasons in his legs I think he can get there. Especially if this year's Ravens offense isn't a fluke.

I get the mileage difference. It is what gives him a low chance instead of no chance. One thing that can’t be changed is the calendar. A decade is a long career for any NFL player and it is an exceptional one for a running back. Simple things like a few dings that cause him to miss, say 6 games in the next couple of seasons and suddenly Instead of needing 3 more really good seasons after 2019 he needs four.

I would love to see him make it but like I said it will be very, very hard.
