I'm not hating, actually I really like the kid. He has moxy, very intelligent and doesn't run from competition.
Burrow had a 31% completion inside the redzone with 3 ints, last year. Ranked 124th in the nation...
Joe Burrow only completed 51% of his passes against the Top 5 defenses he faced last year.
Only 8 of his passing TDs came in SEC play, 6 of them were against 2 teams.... under 58% completion for the season, not one 300 yard game against a P5 team.
This not a hit piece on Joe Burrow's potential but was wondering why so much hype?

No BS here but even if Burrow’s skills were off the chart, would the coaches actually know what to do with it? Recruiting has never been a problem at LSU. Offensive creativity has. Just an outsiders perspective.

He got here like 6 weeks before fall camp started. He got thrown in the fire. His receivers dropped balls like it was contagious, especially early in the year. As the year went on, he got better and better. He's an Alpha competitor, basically the whole offense comes back, he can run and make all the throws. he has an absolutely STACKED receiver corps, and he finally will have an offense tailored around his skills. Get back to us with the skepticism in October and tell us your thoughts.

He was on campus for less than a month before the season started lol

I’m not questioning Joe, I’m questioning the same game plan that has hampered any success LSU might’ve enjoyed throughout the years. Look at the receivers you guys have put in the nfl. Unused toys for the most part outside of a fly rt here and there. I grew with his talent, but would like to see it get used.

Well for one, he beat UCF. More than another certain SEC west team can say...

Agree not grew. That was weird.

Shiny hook. Won't bite tho

Is it hype or is it just a reasonable expectation that he'll improve with more time in the program and greater comfort level with his receivers?
He's a tough, smart kid who ended the year on a high point. Got here a month before the season last summer, was thrown into the fire as a first time starter, and ultimately did ok. Didn't set the world on fire or anything statistically, but he was generally solid.

Ummmm. Yeah. Have you been keeping up with LSU /Joe Brady/new system ? While I understand the skepticism, and even share it, again- check back with us in October. This is a near 50/50 pass run offense.

No clue. He is a good Qb, but by no means a top tier guy. At least he wasn't last year.
Though to be fair...average QB play is so rare at LSU we can understand them being excited that a guy can actually run the offense
Trust me...we understand too. Our QB play since Tebow has been the same.

You haven't even seen it yet? How would you know this?

Face it the bar has been pretty low the last decade. Every year has been LSU will be good if they can find a QB and a passing game.
Joe got here in late July or early August. With three other qb’s, I don’t believe he got much preseason time with the receivers. Couple that with learning a new play book and going under center for the first time since middle school, a slow start is understandable. We saw progress through the year.
Word is the new offense is closer to what he is use to. He is a grad student that has plenty of time for football and being the man for a year has helped make this his team.
I hope max protect is truly minimized this year. Ala got pressure rushing four and having seven cover 2/3. Hard to get a completion against that.
Line will always be a key. Four returning with three others with starting experience helps. They look leaner and have hopefully improved footwork. Fewer seven step drops will help.
It helps he has a confidence that can be infectious. Hopefully we will be less predictable and use all our players better. S Sullivan is a 6’5” receiver/TE that has never been targeted in the red zone. What ever the problem , I hope it’s fixed.
Finally it’s preseason, almost everyone is confident. Even eATMe

Burrow is one of the worst red zone passers in the history of college football
