It's not that bad.

1. The OL will be deep and experienced.
Forsythe rSR - returning starter
Moore rJR
Heggie rSR - returning starter
Bleich rSO - returning starter
McDowell rSO - returning backup
Gouraige rSO - returning backup
Delance rSR - returning starter
Eguakun SO - returning back up
Tarquin SO - returning back up
Harrod rFR
White SO - returning back up
Simonds rFR
Wilson rFR

Plus at least 4-5 new OL recruits. This will be a position with a lot of experience and a lot of good quality depth.

2. Unless their are freak departures, UF will have:
Pierce JR
Davis rJR
Clement rSO
Wright rFR

plus whomever else UF brings in. Pierce and Davis should be dynamic.

3. UF should have an experienced QB in Felipe Franks. If not, UF will still have:

Jones rSO
Trask rSR
Anthony Richardson FR

4. The defense should still have a lot of quality players with experience in the front 7:

DT
Campbell SR
Slaton SR
Conliffe SR
Humphries SO or rFR

WDE
Moon rSR
Chatfield rSO
Diabate SO
Sumerall rFR

DE
Carter rJR
Bogle rSO
Cox rSO - just transferred from UGA

LB
Miller rJR
Burney JR
Houston rJR
Reese (other) rSO
Brunson rJR
Pierre rFR
Hopper rFR

And UF will be adding 2 talented LBs, and 5-6 DL to this rotation. So the depth will be young, but the starters will be juniors and seniors. Nothing shaky about these players, unless 2019 tells us different.

The areas of concern are DB and WR.

WR:
Grimes SR - may go pro
Wells rSR
Toney SR
Copeland rSO
Whittemore rFR
Marks rFR
Henderson rFR
Weston - rFR
Leonard Manuel 4*
Jaquaivan Fraziars 4*
Jeremiah Johnson 3*

But UF will also have strong pass catching options at TE to supplement that younger group:
Pitts - JR - may even play WR fulltime by then
Gamble rSO
Krull rSR
Lang rSO
Zipperer rFR

UF is bringing in at least 3 more WR including highly touted guys like Manuel and Frazion.

The only other position with serious questions would be defensive back:
CB
Mcwiliams rSR
Wilson rJR - if he doesn't go pro
Dean JR
Hill SO
Kimrough SO
Elam SO

S
Stewart SR
Huggins JR
Stiner SR
Davis SR
Lenton rSR

Plus Kelvin Joseph will probably transfer to UF, Jahari Rogers and Avery Helm are two 4* corners already committed, and UF has 2 new safety recruits coming in as well. That might be the most experienced group of safeties UF has ever had at one time.

So yeah, UF has some work to do on the recruiting trail. Especially if Joseph doesn't transfer.

But it is not all doom and gloom here.

Don't forget our schedule is outrageously easy.

September 5 – Eastern Washington (Gainesville, Fla.)

September 12 – Kentucky (Gainesville, Fla.)

September 19 – Southern Alabama (Gainesville, Fla.)

September 26 – Tennessee (Knoxville, Tenn.)

October 3 – South Carolina (Gainesville, Fla.)

October 10 – LSU (Gainesville, Fla.)

October 17 – Ole Miss (Oxford, Miss.)

October 24 – BYE

October 31 – vs. Georgia (Jacksonville, Fla.)

November 7 – Vanderbilt (Nashville, Tenn.)

November 14 – Missouri (Gainesville, Fla.)

November 21 – New Mexico State (Gainesville, Fla.)

November 28 – Florida State (Tallahassee, Fla.)

December 5 – SEC Championship (Atlanta, Ga.)

If there were ever a time to reload and have time to do it, it'd be that year.

If we are changing our QB to Emory Jones, he will have at least a cupcake to start going through the motions. We will be absolutely fine.

Im hoping Franks stays for senior year. He has a chance to win individual awards and with a great 2019 season he will be mentioned a lot by media in positive terms. Everyone on this board knows I am a huge fan of the kid. Military family who hasn't been in trouble and has been coachable.

6'6" 245-250 is a tall drink of water and has the ability to become much better. He is never going to throw the ball 45 times in Mullen's offense...unless God forbid we are way behind in the score.

If he returns for 2020, then we will be in high cotton for that year also.

Memo to Box: stop hitting the panic button, we aren't "in deep trouble" thanks. We will be fine with or without Franks. Jones would have experienced OL to help him and he should be ready....and as Straws stated, the schedule is easy pleesy to get Jones's feet wet.
