Yeah, I’m sure players who are offered six figures by Kansas are instead going to Duke for free.

They are still a serious player in the recruiting wars for players, but it's nothing now like it was back when Saban was building this monster. Alabama/Saban are a proven commodity and some recruits are up for the challenge and want to consistently compete for championships.

Why would a top level 5* want to go to a program where the coaching staff is constantly on the hot seat, and turns in mediocre results year after year?
