-- During 7-on-7 work, the first-team receivers have been John Metchie, Slade Bolden and Javon Baker, but the two noteworthy things I heard on the wideouts were about the new guys, Jameson Williams and JoJo Earle. Williams continues to impress and has clearly been the fastest receiver on the field. As for Earle, one source said he has twitch that the others don't. He is also wearing No. 10. I pointed out the starters to say these other two are definitely going to be in the mix come fall camp.

-- Another newcomer, Henry To'o To'o, has rotated with Christian Harris and Jaylen Moody at inside linebacker. Harris will be on the field, so the competition will continue to be between To'o To'o and Moody for the other spot. When it comes to the reserves, I continue to hear good things about Deontae Lawson. He has a bright future.

-- No surprise here, but Bryce Young has seen all of the first-team reps at quarterback, while Paul Tyson has received all of the second-team reps.

-- Closing this out with the secondary, DeMarcco Hellams could be a breakout star this season since he seems primed to lock down a permanent first-team role. He had a couple of interceptions during a recent player-run workout. Hellams and Jordan Battle have been the first-team safeties this summer, while Malachi Moore is back at Star with the ones after missing the spring. Josh Jobe and Jalyn Armour-Davis have been the first-teamers at cornerback, with Kool-Aid McKinstry right behind them.
