I know Georgia has a ton of talent now but that really surprises me Texas is 4th, just based of population and the amount of people that play football here.

They surely can't be judging on quantity of awesome players coming out of each state. Must be per capita. Texas blows Georgia out of the water.

In the skill positions yes, but GA has more linemen, especially d linemen

Texas is 3 times the size of Georgia. So I have a hard time seeing that to be true. I could see it if you are saying percentage of HS players being recruited by a D1 school. But not total.

Based on that graph, LA and AL are much better per capita, especially more so than the north and mid west states

Meh,its pretty subjective. If you base it on talent and D1 signees Texas and Florida are the top 2.No way Id put Pennsylvania over Louisiana

Well those NFL players aren't currently in High School being recruited are they? So how would that have any indication on CURRENT high school football?
That chart can be representative of what high schools looked like in each state 5-10 years ago but not today

Georgia is up to 123 as of September 2018
That chart is from 2016 and BTW the state of Georgia produced more NFL draft picks than any other state in the 2017 NFL draft and not ONE player was from UGA.
Prime example of why CMR was canned.

Here is a 5 year study from 2 years ago based on blue-chip high school players from each state:
LINK
1.) Texas
2.) Florida
3.) Cailfornia
4.) Georgia
5.) Ohio
Also, here is a link to last year's starting quarterbacks in the NFL by High School State:
LINK
1.) Texas (8)
2.) California (6)
3.) Florida (2)
There are a ton of different measurements you can look at here. I believe Texas, California, and Florida are top three and each can carry their argument of #1 every day of the week.

Give me the per capita stats

I’d swap Mississippi for Tennessee or New Jersey.

Per capita is the only way to do this correctly.

Texas and Florida can but disagree about California. It lags way behind both when it comes to P5 signees and only had 5 more
than state of Georgia.Kids out there just aren't participating
in HS FB like they used to.Its also one of the reasons why the Pac 12 is somewhat down.

3 northern states
All three of those states have been putting out really good football players for a long time.
