So then you’re ok with firing Miles to hire somebody that will get the same results as the previous coach? Little fact here but no matter who LSU would hire after Mainieri, he’ll have the same results as Mainieri. This isn’t the 90s anymore. There’s a reason why no current coach has more than 1 natty. It’s extremely difficult to win a title in baseball today

what he said. the game has changed tremendously. No longer does college baseballs best teams resemble a softball squad that sees how many HRs they can hit. No longer does LSU have the best stadium to play in where kids line up to go play. It used to be LSU and MSU, and the rest of the conference. Now, there are 5 to 7 SEC baseball programs that can match anything LSU has to offer. Yet LSU fans still expect the same results.

I was no fan of the Orgeron hire. Having said that, he’s won 2 more games than Miles when comparing their most recent two full seasons in the position of head coach of LSU Football.
So the comparison you use to start your response and/or rebuttal is factually inaccurate, which invalidates the rest of your posts. As an LSU Fan it’s pretty easy math...Les went 17-8 and 9-7 in the SEC. Orgeron went 19-7 and 11-5. He’s also won conference games at a better rate than Miles did over the same span.
As someone-again-who didn’t like the Orgeron hire, this should reinforce the point of how little Miles deserved to be in his position the last few years of his tenure. Yet he was allowed to carry on.
The same cult of personality surrounds Mainieri. There are readily apparent, easily discerned tangible pieces of evidence that prove he is no longer the solution and instead has become a problem. Just as Miles did. Your inability to apply facts accurately puts you into the ironic position of proving my point that it doesn’t take a definitive improvement in coaching on paper via a resume or even with on field results to experience an improvement in outcomes.
So...thanks for bolstering my argument! Much appreciated.
