This is probably the best orchestrated Hawks draft of my lifetime irrespective of how these players pan out. Over the past two years the way this front office has maneuvered contracts, free agents, the cap, and the draft has been perfect. Schlenk is already the best GM this team has ever had. It's not at all a premature assessment.

I would have liked to have seen how Danny Ferry worked out - he built that 60 win team in 2 years, and wasn't a bad drafter by any means.

However, with 3 drafts under his belt, Schlenk has engineered:
- Collins
- Young
- Huerter
- Hunter
- Reddish

That is genuinely absurd.

If this team can show progress and perhaps even sneak into the playoffs... they'll be primed to have a meeting with any top-tier FA, with 2 max slots available to them.

Not too shabby.

You would think Atlanta would be a good landing spot with our young core that they could attract at least one max guy but right now I just want to see how the young core competes. Defensively this team is probably going to be hard to watch at times because of the guards but adding size guys like Reddish and Hunter should improve that and you can funnel guys into those huge guys but this team should be super competitive next year. That said, this isn't a winning playoff team currently constructed. I feel like something is missing to take them over the top. That said, if they add the right pieces this might be the best young team in the league.
