Just got a a new Lews Mach II baitcaster, and I love it!, smooth as butter when casting. I'm just curious to what some of you guys are fishing with these days.

If this is a fishin thread, post some pics of what you put on the dinner table.

Abu Garcia Ambassader 5500 c3 when they were still made in Sweden, needs lube job. 6'6" Berkely Cherrywood rod with cork handle before they started making those gay handel rods. That's my main bass rig. I have other rigs.

I don't fish much anymore, but I did for years. After going through many brands, my number one choice for bait casting and for a spinning reel for small dolphin was Fin-Nor. I mostly used Penn for the offshore trolling reels.

As far as baitcasters go...I use a Browning Shimano, Browning Citori, and a Bass Pro Extreme. The bass pro reel has been the most reliable by far.

I’ve started buying lews reels after my brother in law gave me one. I have 3-4 now that I’ve never had a problem out of, which seem to cast as well the $150 quantum baitcasters I have.

14 foot fiberglass cane pole and 200 crickets will embarrass you any day of the week May-Sept......after that, 200 minnows.

A WWII-surplus field phone generator and a couple lengths of wire always work pretty well.

Dragging a croaker sack full of smashed green pecan hulls through the water works pretty dang good too

I thought it had to be walnut hulls?
Runt, where was I just reading this recently? I can't find it on this site. Was it on GON?

Second that....things are by far the best reels I ever owned. Pair them up with Edge Black Widow rods and you'll not be disappointed.
Shimano spinning reels also....Stradics at least but if you got it Stellas are unbelievable.
It took me years to get off Penn spinning reels and I still prefer Penn Internationals over Tiagra's but only marginally....and possibly because my Penn's are 2 generations out of date and they are worn in and not worn out as Penn's used to be....the newer Penn's don't seem the same.
Shimano TLD's for a entry level trolling reel are impossible to beat....things will take massive amounts of abuse and last forever with a minimum of maintenance...lots of big fish come to the boat via a TLD...
