I just don't buy LSU being able to hang with us in Tuscaloosa with Burrow at QB.

The reason LSU can play with literally anybody is this:

LSU is the only big dog in a talent rich state surrounded by other talent rich states. They sit comfortably in the group that includes the cream of the crop in total roster talent in CFB, and have probably the second best DC in the game after Venables. The only reason LSU really slipped of late has been their Olines and Dlines, which they are rapidly getting in order. Regarding Burrows, he's as good of a QB as Greg McElroy, and that's plenty good enough to beat elite teams if the other 21 starters play well and you win the LOS.

LSU is close. Real close. Roster talent is 85% of what wins in CFB - ask Nick Saban.

This has been their biggest problem by far. Their OL has been strait trash and they haven't had a decent DL in a long time. They are great at skill positions and Burrow is capable......but their OL is a turnstile and Bama has abused them. They had backs like LF7 and Guice and were shut down rushing.

Yea, I'm aware of the talent in LSU and the fact that they don't have any real threat in state to compete for said talent(they do have to compete with us and we take our share but I get your point regardless) but that hasn't really made a difference recently. They have indeed fallen off on the LOS but their real issue is offense. Scoring enough points to make it a game vs Bama is their real problem and I'm going to have to see it to believe it that it will change.

I'm not so sure you can win a ring anymore with a McElroy at QB nowadays. Things have changed. LSU will always have enough talent to be a 10 win caliber team but as long as we continue to take their top talent then it will continue to take away from their ceiling.

Again...from what we've seen from them under coach O and what they lost on D this past year they just don't scare me. They can't run the ball on us and Burrow isn't good enough to beat us on his own. It will be another 2-3 TD beat down in T town this year.

Aggie does scare me a bit though.
