I've never been to College Station, but what would make someone want to leave for Baton Rouge?

To answer your original question the answer is Woodward has a good amount of family in Baton Rouge. Specifically elderly parents that don't have so many years left on this world. My bet is that was one of the larger factors in his decision to leave CS for BR.

That being said, unless you're on campus there isn't too much going on the Bryan/College-Station area outside of the college and bar scene. A ton of residence without too much industry or major business as the majority of the population is going to school.

Hope that helps.

All of which is true.

However, it doesn't change the fact that the very name "College Station" for that place (and yes, been there several times) makes as much sense as naming that big iceberg "Greenland."
