Just shy of two months after making the hire, Alabama’s board of trustees finalized the contract of new basketball coach Nate Oats.

The board’s compensation committee on Wednesday approved the deal that expanded on the memorandum of understanding signed in March. The five-year contract pays $2.45 million a year plus a $12,000 annual expense account. Oats was to be paid a little more than $800,000 a year at Buffalo if he’d stayed.
