only one of these is true

Hah. I spent Thursday and Saturday in Gainesville at open practices and I will say this...

Feleipe is our guy. He’s the guy. He will be a first round draft pick next year. I promise.

Our OL is not good right now. Very young, and very inconsistent.

Emory is thick and has the look of a very athletic guy. He showed good accuracy and decision making. Still has a tendency of taking off and running a little early.

Jalon Jones will never play a snap at QB for UF. He looks like a walk on throwing the ball. It’s not great. I trust Mullen to get everything out of him, but his throwing motion is very unnatural looking, very erratic accuracy, and his frame is skinny (albeit he is a kid and will certainly thicken up some). I don’t see him becoming anything more than Nick Fitzgerald throwing the ball. Was hoping I’d be more impressed with him.

Also, we have some specimens. Lucas Krull, Trevon Grimes, and Kyle Pitts look phenomenal. They’re huge. They make 6’2 Van Jefferson look like a slot receiver. Very impressive group.

Defensively, Andrew Chatfield has put on a ton of muscle. Greenard is a big dude and displayed good athleticism. I love Amari Burney, he’s such a weapon on defense. Can play at all 3 levels of the defense. Trey Dean has taken over Chauncey’s spot and is doing it nicely in his play and in his trash talk. Loved his presence out there. Great time overall and excited about everything I saw save for the OL.

Also, I thought we were repping a lot of quick plays and tempo, perhaps an indication of how Mullen is planning on adjusting to having a questionable OL this year.

This is concerning.

The OL doesn't surprise me at this point. A lot of youth and inexperience.

Miami (regardless of their coaching and program situation) will be a challenge for this OL.
