Mizzou's administration made a decision then to jettison its fanbase in lieu of appeasing donors for a few extra theoretical dollars per year. Specifically, Mizzou Arena's design included significant lower level seating and box seating designated for donors only. Even the student section got shoved behind one of the baselines- this is why our arena typically looks empty on tv. And sure, Mizzou Arena was a significant upgrade over our old arena in terms of aesthetics and accommodations - but I hate it. It is a soulless pit of financial compromise, it represents everything that is wrong with college sports today. It was built by a billionaire for other billionaires, the fans be damned.
