Basketball: Who gets SEC Player of the Year?

I gotta think it’s a two horse race between Waters and Washington at this point. Maybe Williams is still in it but I can’t imagine that game against Kentucky helped his case. Waters and Washington both played well in the Kentucky/LSU game, though I think Washington played better if memory serves. Who do y’all have winning it?
For all of you haters, in SEC play, Waters leads in assists and steals... and also PPG
Williams : 18.5 PPG
Washington : 16.5 PPG
Waters : 19.6 PPG

If you are trying to say Williams gets it, I think he needs a massive game against LSU for that to happen

Williams had 16 and 8 last night and missed only one shot. He played well but Tennessee’s guards didn’t get him the ball at all. He should be getting 10+ shots a game, not 4.
Tennessee still has games left against UK and LSU. He is still the heavy favorite imo although if Waters or Washington single handedly win the league title for their team I guess they could win it.

why don't you go turn your dick over in a pair of scissors

Why would he be the heavy favorite? I absolutely agree that he is still in the race, but all three of these players stats are very comparable. Waters leads in steals and assists, not sure who is leading in points as of now but in conference play it’s got to be pretty close

Zero chance for Waters, he's not even the best PG in the league.
It's a two horse race between Washington and Williams.

It’s gotta be Grant Williams.

Analytics like KenPom have him as a pretty significant favorite. He is the defending league player of the year, as well.
The numbers like PER and oRtg don’t really support Waters being a legitimate competitor. Washington has come on strong and could be a real challenger, especially if UK upsets Tennessee in Knoxville, but Waters has been way too inefficienct compared to the other 2.
oRtg
Williams 128.2
Washington 120.2
Waters 108.6
PER
Williams 31.7
Washington 27.0
Waters 22.3

I mean, those metrics are cool and all, but Waters got sat for the 1st 4 games of the season and I said SEC player of the year. And in SEC play
Williams: 18.5 PPG
Washington: 16.5 PPG
Waters: 19.6 PPG
And Waters leads in steals and assists as well

Why would games played matter? Those are efficiency numbers.
Here are conference only numbers fwiw
oRtg
Williams 129.0
Washington 122.2
Waters 120.2
PER
Williams 30.8
Washington 28.4
Waters 28.0

What exactly are those numbers attempting to measure? Are they just some sort of overall player score? And waters did play in those 4 games, but his stats were skewed because he had very few minutes comparatively

PER is probably the most common player comparison metric in the sport. I would suggest doing a little research before making threads like this if you don’t even know what PER is.

What I am saying is I appreciate all of those metrics but at the end of the day, what matters are points, assists, rebounds, and steals. Let me put it this way. If you asked any player in the SEC who they least want to go 1 on 1 with, I bet you over half would say Waters, and maybe more than that
