I can tell you about 27 million reason he will be here after 2020. Only way Gus gets fired after the '19 season is if the bottom falls out like it did with Chiz in 2012. A losing record and hes gone...but I dont see it. We are too talented. Our defense alone will win a few games. I know we are breaking a new QB but I feel good about whoever starts because of the weapons around him and experienced OL and the best D we have had in possibly 10 years. I think Auburn at worst goes 8-4 which doesnt get him fired...and we could make a hell of a run which is what i think happens...next year on the other hand....if Gus doesnt get some plug n play OL....which he seems to be trying,.....but it may be different

I think Gus' buyout and/or length of contract was renegotiated. News sources were suggesting that, then somebody realized it would make Gus seem like a lame duck and that would kill recruiting until he was fired, not to mention make it hard to hire another coach, so suddenly the reports changed. Nope, they were just talking strategy during those highly secretive meetings. Then I read he'd lost autonomy to hire and fire assistants, which would be a huge red flag for any head coach.

I think it's a foregone conclusion unless Auburn wins the SEC, and that won't happen, so it's very likely Gus will be gone by December.
