So the mismatched bowls plus a comeback win over a depleted sc, a win over Idaho, a win over a bad Florida state team, and uga losing a close game to bama?
Confidence is one thing, but you seem to be taking it to another level, and for reasons that aren’t exactly strong
Beating the frick out of a top 10 Michigan team- worse than they had been beaten all season
Beating the frick out of the instate rival on the road- no matter how bad they were
Hanging 500 yards of offense in 4 straight games (signaling progress in the offense from the beginning and first half of the season)
All of these are very strong reasons for confidence. It’s wild that Georgia fans are completely disregarding what Florida looked like from the second half of the South Carolina game through the Michigan beat down. Everybody sees it except for y’all.
And you’re so quick to disregard Florida’s dominating win over Michigan, almost using it in your argument like it was a loss for Florida, while you coincide that argument by brushing off Georgia’s loss to Texas as “we weren’t interested in playing”. While that probably was the case, is that not Kirby’s fault? Is that not on coaching? Do Georgia fans give passes for getting embarrassed on national TV? If you do, you’re not the program you think you are.
Again, this all contributes to Florida’s confidence going into next year, but the biggest source of confidence comes from the clear improvements and steps forward that our offense made under Feleipe through the end of the season. The culmination of that, along with Georgia being so beatable and looking so average against Alabama and Texas is what has Florida fans thinking winning the east is possible next year. And it’s not just Florida fans, a lot of media outlets are projecting top 10 for Florida preseason, and saying that the Florida-Georgia game is the game of the year and will help decide the east. There’s nothing outlandish or delusional about where Florida fans stand.

Is this the same offense that essentially has an all new starting OL?

You mean we are disregarding the impressive 4 point beatdown of a hapless South Carolina, the blasting of embarrassing Idaho and FSU squads, and the dismantling of a Michigan team that all but gave up after getting completely demoralized against Ohio State in the game prior to playing a 3 loss team in a non playoff game?

Not like a loss, but I am diminishing its meaning towards your future. It’s a reasonable thing to do because yall played a very different Michigan team than was seen most of the season, yet Most just ignore that part. The only problem the bowl win can create for your team is elevating expectations beyond where they should be.

Losing a close game to a Saban Bama team is average in what world?

First 6 games: 6.21 yards per play
Next 6 games: 6.18 yards per play
Unprecedented progress.

Its kirby's fault for having expectations so high, that a Sugar Bowl is a let down. Guess we shouldnt have won the SEC and Rose Bowl last year.
