Hell yes, man. People looking for a sports program like Alabama Football probably aren't gonna frickin find it here and those are just the facts.

Learn to appreciate it for the journey instead of looking at the neighbor's grass. Or something like that.

Plus, I figured it would draw some of you hater types out to show your arse.

Ah yes the massive contingency of posters on this board that are screaming from the rooftops for 3 titles in 5 years or bust. Not sure how I missed them.

I remember when I was 14 years old and I met positivity with angst. The haters never disappoint.

You realize optimism is more of a youthful trait than cynicism right?

No Drewbie, I don't. Heck, I'd like to hear some more of the Drewbie philosophy. Maybe you can teach me something about the world.

From where I sit, older cynics are only cynical because they have allowed themselves and others around them to set unrealistic expectations for themselves their entire lives and because of this, are generally miserable people.

I'm no guru or anything though. Educate me, wise one.

Why do you think it's the younger fans crying at the games? Why are there no shots of 68 year old guys tearing up after an OT loss? You're more hopeful especially in sports fandom when you're young because there's no real feeling of failure experienced yet. Then you get old enough to care more/too much around pre-teen years and get burned. Probably cry at a few tough losses. Then you get older and you grow accustomed to the disappointment and each loss hurts less and less. You're less emotionally invested each passing year. Still a fan, but the outcome of each game causes less emotional turbulence than it did in younger years. If this pattern continues and the fandom doesn't ever come with some semblance of success or payoff, frustration mounts. If the repeated failure to find success is accompanied by the apparent complacency of the program, this can lead to apathy.

According to you, anyone who ever has an issue with or questions any decision of any program they're a fan of to the point of voicing that opinion (or apparently is cynical about anything in any way), they're either miserable or young. I'd hate to be that close-minded.

Couple that with the legion of posters that apparently want us to be Bama and you've caught yourself one hell of a generalization.

I just find it funny that you're the one constantly accusing people of being bad/uneducated/fake/fairweather fans, constantly hurling insults, and constantly virtue signalling how much better you are than everyone else because you in all of your infinite basketball knowledge still support Mike. It screams Gen Z.

Well I appreciate the considered and measured response.

I was gonna go through it point by point and laugh at you for calling what you do a "criticism of the team" when instead you are hurling open ended insults at our players, ie "Gafford is a pussy" (he scored 32 points last night btw), but since you took the time to consider your words I'll not do that.

Instead, I take contention with this comment you made towards the end:

A generalization? Sir, I would refer you to your first post in this very thread. Don't be a hypocrite.

You aren't as wise as you believe yourself to be.

Either a cheap troll or a serious issue with your sarcasm detector. Either way not a good look.

Earlier in the thread, I found it a waste of time...

Now... We have some optimism that this thread will be better than first believed.

See... I found hope in this thread. Thanks Drewbie.

I wasn't initially going to address this, but I actually audibly laughed out loud at this. Not only because you still haven't mentally grasped the concept that "Gafford is a pussy" doesn't mean "Gafford isn't good at basketball.", but also because this grudge is reaching high school girl territory. I called your heart-throb a nasty name once and you're mad at me for it forever.

Drewbie, thanks for showing everyone once again that optimism isn't welcome around here. I appreciate it.

It makes me not feel so bad when I say rude things. They're justified.

Your idea of optimism is to berate and slander anyone who disagrees with you. You have literally made it to where no one can have an opposing opinion, and if they do, you call them a dumb/bad fan and talk about how much you know basketball.

You flood the board with topics created for the lone purpose of getting people to react to your over-the-top comments and outrageous accusations. Even at this moment there are FIVE of your threads on the front page and every single one of them is picking a fight with those that oppose your viewpoint. You actively go out of your way to oppose or antagonize anyone with even remote criticism of the current state of the program. Virtue signal all you want, but you're a bigger cancer to this board than any Mike hater.

Was it he, or someone else who said, "I don't troll fellow razorback fans"

Something to that affect...

But, Drewbie is spot on here.

Also, thread is delivering because of Drew!

I've never seen anyone react so strongly to a song. And I didn't go out of my way to do anything, Drewbie. You brought your damn self to this thread and made an arse of yourself.

I'm a cancer to the board? If you say so, I guess. I suppose if there wasn't anyone around here to speak up for their team you guys would just totally have the floor to throw the world's biggest frickin pity party in here. "Misery loves company" indeed.
