Question for Clemson/ACC fans

Or sort of ACC-type schools (GA, So. Car.)
Is there a reality/perception that the conference favors Clemson? (officiating; scheduling). We (I believe our Ms. St. and GA brethren now understand, from firsthand experience of the conference Bama Bias) see that a team used to getting every conceivable break in conference play is at a disadvantage when the breaks are removed.

The conference favors the Tobacco Road schools.

That's all that needs to be said about the ACC.
It was so bad USCe quit.
If you think Alabama gets all the calls in a football game, I would love to see what you think about the way the games in Cameron are called.

So, by facing a level playing field in conference, are you saying that toughens Clemson? You will admit though that top to bottom the ACC is weak... Fla St ain’t Fla St no more.

Toughens them? I would make the argument that playing the ACC schedule these days favors us from an injury standpoint maybe. We beat everyone we line up against in the SEC as well, so, it seems to be well planned and working very smoothly. Dabo Swinney is the best coach in Football, and has assembled they best Football Staff in college football history.

Our scheduling is laid out similar to other programs. We play each in our division and two rotating from the other division. We always have a few cupcakes(as these provide funding for smaller schools). With this we always play USC (guaranteed win) and another OOC opponent.
Rotating OOC with SEC schools helps our resume and provides challenges for our teams (excluding USCjr)

ACC does not favor the Tobacco Road schools in football. That’s more of a basketball perception particularly in the old 8/9 member League.
I don’t think the refs favor Clemson in general. However, I do think they favored Clemson in UNC’s 2015 ACCCG meeting when they gave Clemson the ball after UNC recovered an onside kick at the end of the game. No way the League was going to let Clemson (a national championship contender) lose that game.

LSU fans still going on about refs. It's the worst broken record.
"No way anyone can be better than LSU. THEY MUST BE CHEATING!!!"

No, I think you have a sweet situation. No need to apologize. Your conference is significantly weaker than the SEC. Try playing physical teams week in and out. My question was whether the lack of a conference bias (like Ala. has) toughens Clemson (you don’t have an expectation in the postseason of favorable treatment.). The Ala. o line gets away with outrageous holding in conference play - not so much in the postseason.

when we lost to Pitt a couple of years ago, the head ref in the game was a South Carolina grad...dude totally screwed us. I think the ACC has helped by not letting him ref another one of our games.

There is a term in the ACC called the "Tobacco Road Mafia"...
All I need to say.
Let's just say this was A Clemson National Title and not an ACC League title. The other schools can dickride if they choose but this is all about Clemson

I'm pretty sure Dabo requested that he not ref Clemson games anymore. I mean, that same ref just did the Orange Bowl, so clearly they think he is doing a pretty good job.

Wow. Wish our coach had that kind of stroke; then again, if he requested no Bama grad refs or ones with ties to UA there might not be anyone left to ref.
