How in the hell did that sumbitch lose to those teams?
Like every year for the last six, I am back on the Gus Bus...until I'm not. Now that the die is cast for the 2019 season, I am not going to root against him.

There are multiple things that make a team. Head Coach, QB, skill players, chemistry, blah, blah, blah. When Gus gets out of sync with the team -- which clearly happened this season -- this can overshadow roster talent, especially in such a competitive conference.

I hope Gus has his groove on in 2019. He looked different coaching in Nashville. Like there are different QB styles (dynamic, game managers, etc.), there are different kinds of coaching styles. Gus' style is control freak. I think a series of mediocre seasons led to tweaks that ultimately put the 2018 team out of his control and out of his comfort zone.

All that said, given his style, I hope Gus is even MORE controlling in 2019. I hope he sweats every single detail. Maybe that yields us a fantastic 2019.

This is the mindset that I have a major problem with within the AU fan base.... A size able segment of you see CGM pummel a team with lesser talent and losing record and then praise his effort. That should be a given for AU football. He got his a$$ handed to him by MSU, LSU and UT.... Those games shouldn’t have been lost. There is no excuse for it and only a loser would allow it to continue. I hate LSU, UGA and Bama with the intensity of the heat of seven hells. we aren’t in a position to win the SEC with CGM at the helm. He doesn’t have the killer instinct and the player development skill required to put us over the top.

I hope so and really hope he shines. I do like that he will ride or die on his own playcalling etc.
