Met some aggys last night while we were out to drinks and dinner.

They were talking about our river running north and how unique that was.

I leaned over and asked them if they wanted to know why it flowed backwards. They said yes.

Me: because Georgia sucks

Them: dying laughing

SEC vs ACC, and SEC vs Big 12

Aggie and Mizzou, the latest expansion teams,

Mizzou is better than any 6-6 team, and aTm may have one more loss than the Wolfpack, but 2 of their losses are in the finals, so I like their chances too. Big 12 trolls have tapered off a bit, but ACC trolls are out in full force. So Aggies and Mizzou, give em hell and shut em up.

That is how it has to go for me to win the office pool.

So far, anyway, I’ve followed the guidance of the geniuses who spouted off about these games being ‘meaningless’ and haven’t watched one play outside of the 2 playoff games. I may just stick with that and truly embrace the complete devaluing of bowls.

The only one of these matchups I find to be unwatchable is Northwestern vs. Utah.
Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati and Pitt vs. Stanford aren’t too much better.
But hey, football!

Unique? Are they geographically challenged, like many people I know in Florida? A lot of rivers flow north. Not even remotely unique. Ever heard of the Nile, Rhine, or Seine? There are rivers in the northern states that drain into the great lakes that flow north.

They were in their 70s, traveling to watch their team and having drinks. You would have corrected them?

I decided to give the old guy a pass on using "pretty unique". I'm guessing you would have been a giant cock sucker about it.

Throw in the Red River of the North, the New River too. But generally it is an anomaly as most rivers flow S,E,W or some combination thereof. Also some that bend to the N like the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers to cite a couple of examples.

I have known about the joke for decades.

Why does the St. John River flow northward?

Because Georgia sucks.

Oldy but goody.

You have missed some pretty decent football then... Most of the bowls have been more competitive than they have been in the past...
