They were a real coup for Shelby. Was at the State Championship in Gregory Gym in ‘75: South Oak Cliff vs Kashmere. Amazing atmosphere and game. Claim to fame: shot buckets with Godine in G. Rollie one day. Just him and me, not another soul there. Back then, if you knew what you were doing, you could just walk into G. Rollie and shoot. Still remember the game when Godine blew his knee out. Saw it happen. Such a shame — he could really go.
