We lost because one of our starters averaging 11 points a game didn't score a point. The coach was blamed for the loss.
You two are approaching this so narrow-mindedly in order to keep from having the point you're trying to make crumble.

Players not executing isn't a valid point to make? If you're interviewing a player post-game and he says they lost because they didn't execute, are you going to disagree with him and say he's wrong, that the coach is actually to blame instead?
