He's right.See Arkansas and aTm football.

Both were able to win like 100 conference titles combined (sarcasm meter on) in football in the SWC, yet have never, and likely never will win the SEC in football.

On our part that has more to do with being cut off from our initial recruiting ground then the toughness of the SEC.

I posted elsewhere but it’s worth repeating...
Since they lost Mizzou and A&M, the B12 has been propped up by OU more than any team for any other conference. There are 10 teams, and half are complete duds. Of the other top 4...WV and K State live for 7-5. Texas hasn’t threatened for a title in a decade. Oklahoma State has been the clear #2 but they don’t have a top 10 finish since the last round of expansion.
No, Oklahoma certainly doesn’t want to trade 1 top 10 conference opponent in 5 years to play 2-3 each year.

Knapp points out that Oklahoma would no longer "wield power and prestige" in the SEC the way it does in the Big 12.

Oklahoma only wields whatever Texas says they can wield.

Who tf is Knapp? He doesn’t speak for any other sooner fans, and he is certainly not a power broker at OU. OU has never been afraid of a challenging schedule. The old big 8 was easily one of the top 2 conferences for decades. The big 12 was one of the top 2 conferences until the realignment happened. Not to mention that OU consistently has one of the tougher non conference schedules in the country.

OU is not a candidate for the SEC as much as they want to be.

It bears repeating: OU will do what Texas tells them to do.

Ou is making decisions that benefit itself and only itself. This is supported by the fact that OU has been in the top 5 of net revenue every year since the realignment. Not to mention, ou is either elite or very good in every sport besides women’s hoops, and a couple other secondary/tertiary programs that no one GAF about.

The moment that their conf affiliation is deemed to be holding them back either monetarily or competitively, they will be bolting to greener pastures ASAP.

They don't want the competition in the sec.
That's what the man said.
I'll take his word for it.

Your initial recruiting ground was fertile in the 60s and 70s but now it's full of pussies. It's the biggest reason the Big 12 is a shite conference and Texas A&M hasn't won dick in the SEC despite "top 5" recruiting classes.

OU baseball is a top 20 program all time which I would consider very good. You may disagree that that is very good but whatever.
They made a bad hire with Pete Hughes but the new coach will have us back in the cws in a short order.

This is a good answer if you are looking to troll and have some laughs but the honest truth is that there is always some school in Texas or who recruits texas heavy (OU and OKie state) who are competing in and winning big games.
