Is there anything more ridiculous than the Big 12, which only has 10 teams. Obviously the Big 10 is taken (even if it has more than 10 teams), so perhaps the Little 10 would be a good substitute?

Big XII - II (Nebraska and Colorado) - I (Texas A&M) + I (TCU) - I (Missouri) + I (West Virginia)

Or just call it the "Big Dumpster Fire" (bdf)

They should rebrand themselves as "Little Defense"

The little 12 and no defense league has slatted the mighty Sec heavyweight the last three times we played. Oops

Nice to know they think so little of Penn State and Nebraska (Maryland and Rutgers were not brand names) that they did not arrive at a better name to reflect the additions.

At least the PAC added the correct numbers as they added teams

PAC 8 was the core from the old PCC
PAC 10 was adopted after they added the AZ schools
PAC 12 was adopted after they added UT and CO

10 members = 100%
14 members = 140%

If you are not going to be the Big Ten anymore then they should have gone with a regional name like ACC or SEC. Of course, this same brain trust brought you Leaders and Legends.

They've had that name forever, they went by it when they had 9 in the 30s.

How about the Southeastern Conference including two teams from the former Southwest Conference?

Y'all are some directionally challenged mofos.

But seriously... Are you familiar with copyright law in relation to branding?

Nope, they used to be the Western Conference.

Then they were the Big Nine around the 1920's then they let in Ohio State and became the Big 10. Just before WWII broke out, Chicago dropped out and and after the war Sparty took their spot as they were back to 10.

They did not adopt the name Big Ten till the 1980's just a couple of years before they added Penn State and had eleven. So they had the name for about 30 years so not exactly forever.

The AAC is better than the Big 12, IMO.

"around the 1920's" in my previous post covers that.

While "big ten" was used informally in the newspapers and such, they did not monetize it until the mid 1980's.

"big ten"
IS NOT
Big Ten (tm)

Back to the late 80's tho and the addition of Penn State and the "updated" Big Ten with the 11 in the void space. At least they acknowledged Penn State at the time which is more than what they have done for the last 3 added. Added Rutgers just to say they invented football.

Mother of the SEC is actually older by about a year than the mother of the B1G but they never post the history that way. What a load of social climbers.

The "Little 10" and SEC have split its games over the last 3 years (6-6).
