It matters more at the moment than anything else UGA could be doing to improve the football program.

I agree but some of your posters seem to think you will be able to emulate what UA is currently doing. That is not a reality. Smart will never be Saban and for that matter no one will. And before you say you know that I can go back and show many of your posters who think it is a reality. I do not care what Smart learned from Saban or what recruits you pull in each year.

The simple fact is what Saban has and is doing will never be repeated. UA currently is the luckiest fan base out there and yes we probably have a few believe this will never end but it will. But most are enjoying the ride but I doubt any coach or program will be able to ever sustain the success Saban is at UA. Does that mean Smart will not have UGA in contention more often then Richt, probably will but he will never be able to pull off what Saban has.

So Yes I applaud what Smart has done even though UGA has always gotten the talent especially instate and the fact that Smart has been more successful early on then other Saban coaches from the tree but what Saban has done will not be repeated.

I don't think that. I can't speak for others.

I do think Smart can take bits and pieces of what UA has done, adapt it for UGA, and make UGA better for it.

Smart's primary improvement in the program has been being more aggressive out-of-state instead of settling down the board in-state after missing on a top target. That, imo, is why the 2013 class happened to Richt and why the overall depth and talent eroded at UGA from 2013-2016.

To me, your response above is the type of "pile on" Bama fans love to do to UGA fans on messageboards. NO ONE believes that the end of Kirby's career will be as accomplished as Saban's career - Saban probably already is the greatest coach in the history of College Football if he didn't win another game. If Saban coaches 7 more years, he is likely to win another 2-3 more Natty's.

Kirby has done a great job at taking the "Saban Model" and building a program in a similar manner. It seems likely that Kirby will win multiple Nattys over the next 5-10 years. Kirby has already shown he can build a team on par w/ Bama and that has played out on the field - YES, we came up short but anyone being honest will acknowledge the rosters are close. Anyone honest can see that Georgia's teams were well prepared against Bama and had good game plans - the difference in both of those games was the in-game adjustments Bama made. Will Kirby get better there? Most likely YES.

UGA fans respect BAMA - the culture, the coach, the standard. Bama is the standard that Georgia has to set goals to reach.

I don't know why Bama fans have such a hard time with it. If I was a Bama fan, I would probably admire it in some ways as what Kirby is doing is a direct reflection on Saban/Bama.
