Putting my tinfoil hat on.
SEC wants to make it a rivalry.
The SEC wanted a presence in Texas. They didn't care who it was. They got A&M and Texas is finally starting to improve. This win gives A&M hype in the state.

A Jimbo vs Saban rivalry is something every single person in the media would love to see, and Jimbo just got his "signature win" the last game of the season
