See state of Alabama basketball below:

ETA: This is a satirical post. I don't condone coaches heads falling off. This product which is a seat buckle for your neck is also satirical. Santa Clause ain't real.

I had to quit caring about Alabama Basketball about 20 years ago. It is too painful.

We have had a few recruiting classes here and there. We get excitrd. We think we have finally turned the corner. But we continue to be lucky to be mediocre.

Why?

I think it’s pretty damn simple. We haven’t hired a coach that has any sense of how to teach basketball. We can’t block out. We can’t run an inbound play. We can’t switch on defense. We can’t set a proper screen. We can’t use tow hands to catch a damn rebound. We can’t do the basics. Let alone run an offense that moves the ball and puts pressure points on a defense. We never have big time shooters.

We have these problems even when we have “good” players. Most of these problems are pretty fixable. We need an X and O type coach. Failing that we need a coach that will have his assistants be in charge of the X and O shite.

I have a simple test on each new coach.

I watch the inbound plays. If we run these properly it’s easy to get the ball in. You run a play that threatens the D. They react to it. Then someone is usually wide open if you can’t give it to a cutter under the basket. You give the ball to him and set up your offense. It’s easy.

It’s that simple. Every new coach I watch and see if we can run an inbound play. If we can’t, I know we are doomed because our new coach can’t teach the basics. If we can’t do that, we are going nowhere.

It’s been over 20 years. I am tired of this shite.

I always get so pissed off watching us try to in bound, only to see them throw a hail mary down the court to get the ball in. By the time they get the offense set, they've already burned 5-7 seconds on the shot clock.

Seems a little distasteful to show our coach being decapitated.

I find losing to northeastern to be even more tasteless. That shite makes me sick.

Huge year for Avery. Sexton may have just postponed the end for Coach Johnson however it is a long long time until March. We can only hope for the best. I believe Bama will have more L's than W's this season. We'll see.

You know what? You're right. Gus would be a terrible basketball coach!
