Auburn still has a lot of young talent on this team. It’s not difficult to see a scenario where Auburn gets a Kelly Bryant at QB, the oline gels in their second year playing together, Boobie takes a huge step forward in his second season starting, and we exceed everyone’s expectations next year.

Could be, although I don't think Bryant is necessarily an answer and we have talent holes on the roster that are significant.

Plus, when you manage to lose 4 games even in an "up" year, you start to question whether there are any additional 2013s ahead for Gus. I would not be shocked to see Auburn go 9-4 or something next year, but it'll surely come with some inexplicable decisions/losses. We'll hit our stride per usual and then probably fall off when it matters. And we'll be sitting there with a 7, 8, 9 win coach pondering whether we're stupid to pay the buyout when "he wasn't that bad" this year.

We'll keep him, get a bit excited for 2020, then fall on our face.
