You get used to it on here. LSU fans, if anything, are consistent when they find their narrative. Ever since 2011, it's the same song and dance. They all pump their chest with whatever narrative the hive-mind has decided they're using, then they repeat it incessantly. Then when we beat their arse, they all flee to their safe space at the Tiger Rant where you'll get banned for posting as a Bama fan.

2011 NC - 9-6, best CFB team in history, best defense in history, home field
2012 - don't remember this one, I'm sure it was "night game in Baton Rouge, Bama's 2011 defense ain't here baw" type shite
2013 - Mettenberger, OBJ, Landry, Hill, best offensive juggernaut LSU has ever had.
2014 - Night game in BR, Blake Sims can't handle the crowd, Running back at QB, blah blah
2015 - LF7 best RB ever, second coming of AP, coming for that Heisman, can't be stopped
2016 - Freshman Jalen can't handle the night crowd in Baton Rogue, it's so loud, omg he's so screwed
2017 - I think they knew they were screwed here
2018 - Refs cheating, Bama ain't played nobody, Night game in BR, Tua ain't ready, muh first round picks in the secondary, blah blah

It's just the same shite, different year

I’m slightly confused by your post.

Are you saying it’s ridiculous for LSU fans to believe our team can win in any given year? Cuz every one of your examples are legitimate reasons for LSU fans to have optimism.

This site would be pretty boring if fans of any team just accepted defeat and didn’t try to come up with silver linings.

This narrative won't go away anytime soon next year given our neutral site against ACC powerhouse: Duke.

The narrative next year will be: Bama gets an unfair scheduling advantage because they control the SEC and the NCAA. Saban and the REC don't want to face tough regular season opponents so they can rest themselves for the back-end of the schedule (LSU) and playoffs. LSU isn't afraid to play tough games and is the only one besides Auburn whose not afraid to stand up to the REC and punch Bama in the nose.
